People often ask what motivates us to operate in challenging environments that often resist change, when an easier path is always available. A few things, honestly.

There's the chance to build a large scale business that helps grow industry, creates jobs and opportunities, and changes lives in the communities and country where it operates — not abstractly, but in a real tangible way.

Our mindset is not constrained by thinking and paths that have been (often unsuccessfully) followed by others before but by an attitude that "in the beginner's mind, there are many possibilities but in the expert's mind there are few" (Shunryu Suzuki, 'Zen Mind, Beginner's Mind').  Without that philosophy, we would struggle to take risks and progress.  

It's also hugely rewarding to work with and mentor bright, hardworking and decent people who have similar values, share the same sense of purpose and want to travel on the same journey with us.  Furthermore, if the individual's sense of purpose is aligned with that of the company they work in, this creates a more sustainable future for both the individual and the organisation itself.

And finally, we only choose projects that we love to get involved in, where we can add value, work with the people we want to work with, and as a result hope to gain a great sense of fulfillment from the time and energy we spend on those opportunities.
